All homes in Cardiff, the capital of Wales, could be heated geothermally using groundwater, new research says. BBC News has a really nice article about the idea, which explains that the roughly 12C water could supply ground source heat pumps.

A major, 35 megawatt, river heat pump system is under construction in the US state of Massachusetts.

Buildings and infrastructure

Responding to wildfires and floods have cost London’s emergency services £11 million since 2018. Landowners ought to introduce fire breaks to help tackle the increasing risks posed by climate change, says Pat Goulbourne, assistant commissioner for London Fire Brigade’s operational and resilience control.
