Heating and cooling

Supplying industrial heat in the 200-550C range from renewable energy sources in a cost-effective manner can be tricky. But we could use curved solar panels to focus sunlight and heat up a molten salt thermal energy storage device according to researchers in the US, who have evaluated such a setup in a new paper. The work was inspired partly by GlassPoint, a US company already innovating in this area.
