Let me begin this week by flagging an important insight: the number of workers around the world who are at risk of climate change-related disasters is growing, according to a new report from Lloyd’s Register Foundation, a charity. The hazards include extreme weather, heatwaves, increased UV radiation and a proliferation of disease-carrying insects.

Heating and cooling

UK energy secretary Ed Miliband says he will relax rules around heat pump noise emissions, in order to accelerate the rollout of such technology, according to The Telegraph.

Buildings and infrastructure

Following serious failures associated with solid wall insulation projects in the UK, there will be a review of government schemes that help people pay for such work.
