How to republish my stories

I’ve spent more than a decade writing for news organisations. I know what makes a good story – and since you’re reading this page, I’m guessing you agree. Climate change is happening fast, and affecting so many aspects of life, that there is a growing need for scientifically accurate, high-quality coverage of climate solutions and resilience projects.

That’s why sharing my stories with as wide an audience as possible is important to me.

Articles published by The Reengineer have already been syndicated in other media publications. This piece on electricity-generating waterwheels and this story about organ tuning records reflecting climate change were both republished in shortened forms (here and here, respectively) by The Guardian, while this feature about churches installing heat pumps was also published by Wired.

If you work for a news outlet and are interested in republishing one of my stories, please get in touch via the contact form on my personal website. I would be happy to discuss terms with you.

Some stipulations apply:

  • You must receive written permission from me before republishing any content. Failure to do so is a breach of copyright.

  • Republished content must only be used for editorial purposes, not commercial or advertorial.

  • Republished articles must include my byline (Chris Baraniuk) and a credit line including hyperlink such as, “This story was first published by The Reengineer”, or similar, in a prominent position.

  • Light edits, for example to comply with house style, are permissible. More substantial edits to meet requirements for print and so on must be agreed with me on a case-by-case basis.

  • All hyperlinks within articles must be preserved in digital versions.
